Acid Solutions for Cleaning Glassware
Purpose
For procedures requiring acid cleaned glassware.
Equipment & Supplies
1000 ml flask and measuring pipet
0.15% Acid Rinse: Glassware
- Distilled water 985.00 ml
- Hydrochloric acid 15.0 ml
- Mix well, label.
CAUTION: Acid, corrosive.
Safety/Ppe
Wear nitrile gloves, goggles and lab coat. Add acid to water, work in well-ventilated area or fumehood.
- Pour into glassware, let set for 2-5 minutes.
- Rinse with 10 changes of distilled water.
