Procedure for Cleaning the Microscope

- Microscope
- Lens paper
- Kim wipes
- Lens cleaner
Instructions
Follow the procedure below in the exact order.
- Remove microscope cover.
- Clean the oculars with lens paper.
- Gently clean each objective with lens paper. Use only clean lens paper to wipe lenses. Lens paper is specially made with soft fibers that will not scratch the glass.
- Moisten the lens paper with lens cleaner and wipe carefully.
- Never use alcohol as a cleaning agent because some lens adhesives are soluble in alcohol.
- Caution: Care should be taken to use a separate lens paper for dry and oil objectives so there is no transfer of oil, which may ruin the objectives.
- Clean the condenser with lens paper.
- Clean the stage and knobs with moistened pieces of Kim wipes.
- When cleaning is finished position the lowest power 10x of the microscope stage.
- Cover the microscope with dust cover.
