Micropipetting Assessment

  • Prepares reagents, standards, and solutions to industry standards for use in the clinical lab, utilizing common lab equipment according to established protocols.

Instructions

Follow the procedure in the correct order of steps.

Have instructor check off each step.

Procedural Step Instructor
Attached the proper tip for the micropipette.
Press to the stop position.
Place the tip into the solution and allow the piston to rise slowly back to its original position. (This fills the pipettor tip with the desired volume of solution.
Do not wipe the tip.
Place the tip on the wall of the receiving vessel and depress the piston, first to a stop position where the liquid is allowed to drain, then to a second stop position where the full dispensing of the liquid takes place.
Press down to the last stop and dispose of the tip in the benchtop biohazard bucket.
