8.2 Carrier Parts
Support Feet
The cast iron support feet are used to secure the face plate to the floor. The slots found in the support feet enable adjustments to be made for height of the fixture from floor, when floor varies or high-rough-in requirements for Barrier Free water closet bowls. The adjustable foot supports provide absolute minimal deflection at three hundred pounds.
Face Plate
The cast iron face plate accommodates all manufacturer’s water closets having rough-in heights from 4 1/2” through 9 1/2” for either siphon-jet or blow-out installations. All adjustments are accessible from the front of finish wall. The face plate has a “0” Ring Coupling/Face Plate connection which provides the shortest available dimension from face of face plate to face of finished wall (5/16”). Even after the final finish is applied to the wall further adjustments can be made to the coupling without wall disturbance.
“O” Ring Seal
A gasket is needed to provide a gas-tight and water-tight seal between the adjustable threaded coupling and the 4” National Pipe threads of the face plate.
Adjustable Coupling
This is a 4” National Pipe threaded non-corrosive adjustable coupling with integral test cap. Some are made of metal and some are made from ABS.
Fixture Support Rods
These are threaded rods, 5/8” in diameter which are connected to the threaded holes of the face plate. The rods are cut to a length that will allow them to pass through the wall and fixture, to receive the blind aluminum cap nuts which are chrome plated.
Back-Up Nuts and Fibre Washers
These are adjustable nuts with washers. They provide a solid plumb backing. It is important that these back-up washers be set up, so all washers form a vertical plumb plane.
Closet Fixture Outlet Gasket
This positive sealing gasket with a special adhesive formula eliminates leakage. The gasket is made from expanded closed cell neoprene (not a sponge rubber). Closed cell neoprene retains its resiliency permanently, it is resistant to water, petroleum products, similar substances or rotting.
Matching water closet & carrier
Wall hung water closets are mounted with either 4-bolt (siphon jet) or 3-bolt (blow-out) patterns. Watts ISCA-lOl, ISCA-121, & ISCA-131 Series carriers will accommodate either siphon jet or blow-out wall hung bowls. Faceplates are supplied in the siphon jet (4-bolt) position but may be inverted and re-configured at the jobsite to mount blow-out (3-bolt) bowls.
CA-141 & CA-151 thin wall carriers are for installation only with 4-bolt siphon jet bowls.
All commercial wall hung bowls have similar bolt patterns and can be accommodated with any standard closet carrier.
