Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are core values at NSCC and are part of what makes us a strong community. We choose to celebrate our differences and use them as opportunities to learn, gain appreciation for those facing barriers, and take action to foster a culture free from discrimination and harassment.

Every one of us at the College has a duty to educate ourselves about the diverse make-up of our learning environments so we can make our communities stronger and be well positioned to make positive impacts in the workforce and in society.

Diversity focuses on the make-up of our community such as race/ethnicity, age, sexual orientation and gender, to name a few.

Inclusion is about how we can ensure everyone feels welcome, regardless of who they are.

Verna Myers, an American activist for inclusion once said, Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance.
