As you prepare to start your learning journey with us, we want to let you know about the wide selection of learning supports available to you through the Libraries and Learning Commons.

Tip

Learning Support About This Learning Support
Libraries NSCC Libraries provides a vast selection of print and online resources, subject guides, and streaming videos. Friendly staff at campus libraries provide help with research and assignments, academic integrity and citation, laptop loans and more. Staff can answer your questions in person or online through our Live Chat Service.
Writing Centre The Writing Centre provides support with writing papers, note-taking strategies, grammar, punctuation and more. Students can book up to two 30-minute writing appointments a week.
Tutoring Tutoring can help prepare you for tests and assignments. NSCC provides students with 6 free tutoring hours each month through Pear Deck Tutoring , a 24/7 online tutoring service. We also offer culturally-responsive tutoring supports and a private, student funded tutor list.
Peer Assisted Learning Supports (PALS) PALS is a program where students support other students in their learning. PALS programming includes one-on-one tutoring, group study and test prep sessions, drop-in sessions on specific course support, and webinars such as effective time management and study skills.
English as an additional Language (EAL) Supports One-on-one support, workshops and conversation circles are available to help students strengthen their English language skills in listening, speaking, pronunciation and reading.
Learning Supports Resource Guides Learning Supports Resource Guides provide access to online resources to help prepare you for college life and succeed academically.
Testing Services NSCC Testing Centres offer a quiet, accessible, supervised test taking environment for students with an approved accommodation and students who are taking online courses.
TextHelp Read and Write This literacy support software offers text to speech, dictation, highlighting and more.
