We offer tailored support for various communities of learners, including 2SLGBTQIA++, Black and African Canadian students, Mi’kmaq and Indigenous individuals, international students, former foster youth, and persons with disabilities.

NSCC Mental Wellness and Support Services

Type of Support Description
Personal counselling NSCC counsellors provide free, confidential in-person, telephone or online
counselling to support your well-being and academic success. Common
issues that counsellors help with include stress and anxiety, depression,
relationships and grief.
Career counselling and advising Supports are available to help you with career-related questions.
CampusWell This e-magazine provides videos, interactive articles and other great health
and wellness resources including NSCC’s Mental Wellness Bulletins.
Provincial Crisis
Telephone Line
If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis or mental health distress, contact
the Provincial Crisis Telephone Line at 1-888-429-8167 for support 24/7/365.
Sexual Violence Support If you have experienced sexual violence, there are several ways NSCC can

NSCC Brightspace Course:
Wellness and Change in
Uncertain Times
This self-directed course provides information, strategies and resources to
help you manage your wellness and navigate changes.
Inquiring Minds online and in-person workshops for students Join other students to understand more about mental health, wellness, stigma
reduction, coping strategies and more.
Good2Talk student support line 24/7/365 free and confidential helpline for post-secondary students in Nova Scotia. The service provides professional counselling, information and referrals for mental health, addictions and well-being. Call 1-833-292-3698 or text GOOD2TALKNS to 686868.
TAO Self-Help Provides online tools to help with stress, anxiety, relationship problems, anger management, problem solving, communications and evaluating your alcohol and drug use.
Togetherall Safe and anonymous, online peer community for your mental health, freely available 24/7 to all youth and young adults aged 16+, and post-secondary students in Nova Scotia. Register online using your NSCC email.
BeThere.org Provides resources to understand how to take care of your own mental health and look out for each other.
Jack.org Provides you with information to help understand mental health, tackle stigma and seek help.
myWellness Through myWellness you can access an anonymous mental health assessment, a toolbox full of helpful information and 3 free hours of virtual counselling.
HealthyMindsNS.ca A suite of online mental health resources, available free to post-secondary students, to complement the mental health supports and services available on campuses.

 

Make sure to not be so hard on yourself! Going to school and learning everyday is a huge accomplishment and it is hard work for your body and brain. Make sure to get lots of rest and self-care.
