How to use this Handbook

This handbook was created to share information and offer helpful activities based on where you are in your learning journey – whether you’re just starting out, are actively immersed in your program or are preparing to graduate.  More sections of this handbook will become available to you as you move through the academic year.  As you use the handbook, make sure to pay attention to these icons that represent where you can go to find information:

Connect
Connect is NSCC’s search-based internal website for students and employees. New students receive access to Connect once their program begins. You’ll find information about College services and supports, learn what’s happening at your campus, see the latest news and more.

Libraries and Learning Commons
Our Libraries and Learning Commons offer useful resources and learning supports like tutoring or writing help. You can visit either in person or online.

Student Services Support
This handbook contains activities and topics you may want to discuss with a member of the Student Services team. They can help you access more resources and guide you in meeting your goals.

You can complete the activities independently, with an advisor or member of the Student Services team, with a classmate or anyone else – it’s entirely up to you.

NOTE
The web version provides:

  • Additional interactive content like videos and exercises.
  • Easier access and navigation to digital resources – click on the links to go to NSCC resources and supports.
