68 ABO Discrepancies/Anomalies Exercise

This exercise is developed to enhance testing and work performed in the student labs. Exercises are not compulsory but students are encouraged to complete the exercises and then request an answer key from the instructor to keep on track with their learning. If students find they are having difficulty with any exercise they can request additional help from the instructor.

For each of the following patients (1 through 11), state the possible blood group, potential problem (ie missing antigen, antibody, extra antigen, and antibody) and give the possible reason for this discrepancy. Remember there may be more than one reason for each situation and reasons may overlap.
