  • Has larger working distance with which to view objects (test tubes or petri dish)
  • Principal identical to conventional
  • Illumination is above object and objectives are below
  • Specimen viewed though bottom of conatiner
  • Used for agglutination tests, sediments, fluids
  • Can be equipped for bightfield, phase contrast, fluorescence, polarizing
