69 Student Exercise on unexpected antibodies
This exercise is to enhance testing and work performed in labs. Exercises are not compulsory, but students are encouraged to complete them to support their learning. If students find they are having difficulty with any exercise, they should request additional help from the instructor. Any time students perform antibody identification they should ask themselves the following questions:
- What is the likely stimulus (or source) of the patent’s unexpected antibody?
- Does the antibody appear to be clinically significant? (Provide evidence.)
- Is follow-up testing required after performing the panels?
