Examples of Breaches of Illegal Substances and Narcotics Standard
The following are examples of violations that may occur in Campus Housing. Please note that these examples are fictitious and have been created by NSCC Housing & Student Life staff as hypotheticals, based on years of experience working in housing. They are not reflective of current student violations. Responses to violations may vary depending on the specific circumstances, including the severity of the behavior, the impact on others, and any prior violations. The details of each situation will be carefully considered before determining the appropriate action.
- A student is found in their room with cannabis, but the amount is above 30-gram personal limit allowed by the federal Cannabis Act. (Level 2 Violation)
- A student is found to be selling their prescription medication, Adderall, to other students in campus housing. This action is in direct violation of the NSCC Housing and Student Life policies and constitutes a serious breach of trust within the campus community. As distributing personal prescription medication to others is illegal NSCC would engage local partners, including Law Enforcement, to appropriately respond to the incident (Level 3 Violation)
